Oil paintings and drawings of migrant workers in Doha — an investigation of anonymity, identity, and visibility that seeks to elevate overlooked individuals from societal margins to central importance. Georgetown University Art Gallery, Qatar, 2019.
This series of oil paintings and drawings focuses on the migrant workers of Doha, Qatar — individuals who exist on the edges of society, handling the city's manual labor while remaining largely invisible. By painting them, I sought to reposition these workers at the center of their own lives — to provide notice, recognition, and appreciation where systemic erasure had rendered them anonymous. Each portrait is an act of elevation, insisting on the individual character and dignity that persists within overlooked communities. Exhibited as a solo exhibition at Georgetown University Art Gallery in Qatar, 2019.
